The swimming pool, located within the pool house at the rear of the grounds, offers its own changing area, shower facilities and toilet. It is used by a local swim club and the owner, but available for guests’ private use most days between 10am to 3pm, and additional times may be available by arrangement. The owner’s large 3-acre grounds, complete with pretty unfenced ponds, are visible from the property windows and a joy to behold.
The surrounding area is threaded with quiet country lanes and is a delight for walkers, cyclists and nature lovers. The charming town of Woodbridge with fine restaurants, museums, a picturesque harbour and boat trips, lies just 5 miles away, and a wealth of attractions are within easy reach. Lovers of history will want to explore the National Trust’s Sutton Hoo, and Framlingham Castle. Birdwatchers and walking enthusiasts can head to RSPB Minsmere Nature Reserve and Dunwich Forest and Heath. The concert hall and shopping village at Snape Maltings is well worth a visit, and at the sophisticated little seaside town of Aldeburgh, 16 miles, fish and chips are a must. At Southwold, 25 miles, the summer theatre is ever popular. Nearby Thorpeness, 17 miles, is the setting for the famous ’House in the Clouds’ folly, and also offers a boating mere.
