Along the promenade, fresh fish is sold from the beach huts that line the sandy stretch of beach - the iconic scallop shell sculpture standing proud in the centre, a tribute to Benjamin Britten, the composer famously affiliated with this beautiful part of the world. Surrounding Aldeburgh there is plenty to see and do and a short drive inland will bring you to Snape Maltings, the home of Aldeburgh Music. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, there is a year round music programme. This unique location brings visitors outstanding concerts, events, cafés, galleries, river trips and much more.
