This comfortable and spacious detached property is situated on a quiet lane just outside the centre of Stratford-upon-Avon, and has a large living room, kitchen/dining and a lovely large garden. Rivendell boasts a second living room, a conservatory overlooking the garden and five bedrooms, and within walking distance of the River Avon and Stratford Greenway; a 5-mile stretch of the National Cycle Network linking Oxford to Derby via Birmingham. It is also located under ½ mile from Stratford-upon-Avon’s racecourse, where races take place regularly between March and November with many top trainers and jockeys attending. During some summer race days, you can take a picnic and enjoy the horse racing from the centre of the course. Stratford-upon-Avon is also home to a literacy festival which takes places every year. The Malvern Hills are within an easy drive and boast and array of walking opportunities.
Approximately 1 mile along the road from Rivendell, away from Stratford-upon-Avon, you will be in the village of Luddington, where it is rumoured William Shakespeare married Anne Hathaway in the original village chapel. You can visit both Anne Hathaway’s Cottage, just over 1 mile away, and Shakespeare’s birthplace in the town centre. In Stratford-upon-Avon, you will find an array of independent and high street shops, cafés, tea rooms, restaurants and pubs. It would also be a fantastic experience to take in one of Shakespeare’s plays at the Royal Shakespeare Company, or take a leisurely boat trip along the River Avon.
For those who wish to venture further afield, the picturesque Cotswolds is only 20 miles away, where you can meander through the quintessential towns and villages taking in a cream tea or pub lunch on the way. Warwick, with its famous castle, is approximately 10 miles away, and slightly further is Royal Leamington Spa and Kenilworth. Birmingham, with its airport, and the National Exhibition Centre are also easily accessible. Shop ¾ mile, pub and restaurant 1 mile.
