The village of Bowness on Solway is best known for being located at the start (or end) of Hadrian's Wall in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Located on the shores of the Solway Coast in the Moricambe Bay the area is a haven for the local bird life making the sand dunes, salt marsh, shingle beds and peat mosses their home. There are viewpoints for spotting waders, curlew, golden and grey plover, lapwings and many more birds scattered along the shoreline. Guests looking for a relaxing away from it all holiday but within easy reach of city life and national parks opt to stay here. The village itself has a tea room, village pub and bistro. Carlisle is within half an hours drive, the Lake District is within an hours drive and the Victorian coastal village of Silloth is within half an hour.

Located in the centre of the village on the former site of the Roman Fort of Maia which was the second largest fort on Hadrian's Wall and within a 5 minute walk of the sea front Bowness House Farm provides 4 self catering holiday cottages in the courtyard, the orchard is home to 4 shepherds huts and a luxurious 7 room bed and breakfast is in the old farmhouse. Guests have complimentary access to the fully equipped gym and the onsite Bistro is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner or to simply enjoy a refreshing drink.


This first floor open plan apartment, located in the courtyard, is flooded with natural light through the velux window and equipped with seating area around the TV and double bed. The kitchen area is equipped with everything you need including an electric oven and hob, fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and microwave. Shower room.

This apartment is located in Wigton. The Sands Centre and Tullie House Museum and Gallery are cultural highlights, and some of the area's attractions include Knoxwood Wildlife Rescue and Magic Castle. AMF Bowling and Dino Park are also worth visiting.
