Just a few miles from Lake Winderemere, Grange Over Sands is a lovely town on the Cartmel Peninsula, with a fantastic promenade. A mile over the fell is the picturesque village of Cartmel, which features a choice of great restaurants and pubs, a Norman priory, and the smallest national hunt race course in the UK. At the foot of Lake Windermere is the National Trust s Fell Foot Park where you can enjoy the grounds, fish and swim in the lake or take to the water with a hired row or sail boat. Opposite is Lakeside where you can hop on a steamer for a round trip of the lake. Other great attractions include Hampsfell, Grasmere, Derwentwater and Holker Hall Entering this stylish accommodation via a small courtyard between the Coach House and the Old Stables, you step through the French windows which take you into the attractive open plan kitchen/diner and snug. A large room with original stone flagged floor, to one end is the kitchen area which is equipped with range oven, microwave, dishwasher and coffee cafetiere. The dining table sits in the middle and to the other end is a comfy snug area with seating and an open fire. To the rear of the kitchen, through a door is a small scullery with the fridge/freezer, laundry equipment and a separate WC. From the kitchen you can head through the central hall, which is a feature in its own right with polished timber floors and French doors flanked by arched windows, and then step down three wide steps into the spacious and tasteful lounge. A timber floor sits beneath an ornate plaster ceiling, where to the far end is a traditional wood burner set in a beautiful specially commissioned stone fire surround. Two sets of French windows open out to the veranda and the garden beyond. With comfy seating, TV/DVD and a piano, this is a splendid space to relax in, and also contains a beautiful oak table for grand dining. Exploring further you will find two comfy bedrooms. The first bedroom is off the main hall, to the rear of the apartment and with a king size double bed. Adjacent to this is the bathroom with bath, shower cubicle and WC. The master bedroom is just off the lounge and also features a king size double bed. The window and glazed door look out to the garden, where you can step out onto the veranda to enjoy the sunrise and an early morning coffee. Outside there is plenty of space to enjoy. The veranda with the lawn in front makes for the perfect place to relax with a drink and a good read, or you can simply watch the tide ebb and flow and the light change across the sands and the bay.
