Sleeping up to 11 guests, this magnificent home is ideally situated in North Devon; a perfect house for entertaining friends and celebrating family occasions.
Forming part of a Georgian manor house, this beautiful and most elegant of homes nestles around 4 miles south of Barnstaple in the picturesque village of Newton Tracey. The living space and communal areas both inside and out make this unique holiday stay an absolute contender for your next big family occasion or rounding up of old friends.
Period features are abundant; the sash windows, original French Doors to the patio and sweeping bespoke staircases ooze yesteryear style. Recently redesigned and refurbished, the owners have done quite simply an outstanding job imprinting their flair for colour, the contemporary and interior design, showcasing the very best features of this fabulous home.
On entering the property you can kick off your muddy boots and sandy sliders and hang up your dry robes in the porch, before stepping into the statement hallway, complete with luxe chandelier.
On the ground floor you and your guests have a rich selection of ultra cosy sofas in the main living room, as well as beautiful reading chairs and love seats arranged in the open plan snug and dining room. Guests visiting during cooler months are welcome to fire up the woodburning stove, whip up a hot chocolate and perch on one of the many window seats overlooking the grounds.
The kitchen has been recently renovated with panache and functionality merging harmoniously. A huge fridge freezer, plenty of storage, utensils, coffee machine and a stunning Lacanche range cooker will ensure you have what you need for cooking your guests some proper Devon munch. There is a spacious hardwood dining table seating 10, where you can cook and entertain simultaneously thanks to the open plan setup.
Sleeping accommodation is spread over the first and second floors, where each room displays its unique boutique-country manor feel. On the first floor there are two double bedrooms and a third spacious super king bedroom. The first floor also has a utility room with washing facilities, and two bathrooms with freestanding baths (one roll top and one high back), and large walk-in showers; plenty of pruning space for guests morning and evening. The second floor provides a further small double bedroom and a larger super-king size room.
Outside there is ample, lit parking on the private driveway, and a large lawn to the front which is great for kids, big kids and your dogs to play on. A short walk beyond the driveway is further outside entertaining area, with basic outside kitchen, picnic bench, sun loungers, day bed and all important hot tub, all overlooking the natural pond.
Ideally situated close to North Devon's most popular haunts, you and your guests are close to the dramatic North Devon coastline, as well as the mysterious and enigmatic Exmoor National Park.
Locally, The Hunters Inn serves food and drink and provides an easy option for a cooking-free night out, whilst nearby Barnstaple offers a plethora of shops, bars and restaurants overlooking the ever changing tidal Taw estuary.
