The apartment is just ten minutes walk to the bus/coach station in the town centre and a pleasant 20 minutes walk through the Glen to the train station with its regular service to Edinburgh. As well as Edinburgh, the ancient city of Stirling with its Castle and St Andrews, the home of Golf and ancient university and ecclesiastical town are within easy reach, as are the numerous picturesque fishing villages along the Fife coast, and the towns of Culross, Falkland and Aberdour with which fans of Outlander will already be familiar. Loch Leven with its island castle in which Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned, and from which she escaped, is just a short drive away; boat trips to the island across the loch in summer.
Dunfermline itself has much to offer with its Abbey, and remains of its Royal Palace the birthplace of Charles, and award winning new museum.
