Burnham Thorpe is a quiet little village famous for being the birthplace of Admiral Lord Nelson, and there are many reminders in the area of his important part in its history, particularly in the church and the well-known Lord Nelson pub. Burnham Market is just one and a half miles away, and has a good selection of quality shops, as well as pubs and restaurants. It is a good area for ornithology with many reserves close by, and sailing can be enjoyed at nearby Burnham Overy Staithe and Blakeney. The lovely sandy beach at Holkham is just three miles away.
