Discover The Bield, a beautiful sandstone Victorian house which until 2021 operated as a family run guest house since 1989 and is still run by them to this day. A wonderful home which is beautiful inside and out with a welcoming hallway. All the rooms are immaculately presented and there is plenty of space for family and friends, whether it be relaxing in one of the stunning living rooms with open fires, relaxing in the hot tub or soaking up the sun in the garden.
Situated in the picturesque village of Aberfoyle, the ’gateway to the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park’, this is the perfect location for families and couples to enjoy a luxurious and comfortable holiday while recharging after a long day exploring the beautiful surroundings. On the ground floor there is a spacious living/dining room with an open fire and a second living room, giving guests a spacious home for all to enjoy whether curling up with a book in front of the fire or everyone relaxing together to plan the next day’s adventure. The spacious kitchen with breakfasting area is well equipped for preparing a celebration meal and there is also a handy utility room. There is a family shower room and three beautifully presented bedrooms, one of which is en-suite. There are three further double bedrooms on the first floor all with an individual en-suite to complete the picture. Step outside into the well-kept garden with a hot tub and private parking for up to 6 cars! There is plenty of space for everyone to enjoy.
You may not want to venture out from The Bield, but there is so much to discover and there is no need to use the car. There are many beautiful walks surrounding The Bield, just get your boots on and head straight out the front door. For adventurous cyclists, Sustrans Cycle Route 7, a challenging long-distance route from Sunderland to Inverness, passes nearby with breathtaking views of forests, hills and lochs. Just a 5-minute drive from The Bield, you’ll find the gently rolling tracks around the picturesque Loch Ard which are made for exploring by bike or on foot, with sculpture trails and play features to find. Makes a great fun day for all the family with woodland and water-loving wildlife along the way to look out for.
Take a cruise on the steamship ’Sir Walter Scott’ on Loch Katrine, one of Scotland’s iconic lochs offering fabulous views best seen from the water. You can take your own bikes or hire bikes from The Pier, board the boat and disembark from Stronachlacher, 13 miles down the loch. Have lunch in the café, and then cycle back on the private road to your start point. For traveling further afield, Stirling, Perth, Edinburgh and Glasgow or all accessible for days out.
