Port Eynon Beach cottage is situated just 150m from the beach and walking distance to all the local amenities including pub, restaurant, takeaways to suit all the family, a coffee shop, surf shop and general stores for provisions. The perfect location to relax or from which to explore all that the Gower Peninsula has to offer including its coastal path, surfing spots, golf courses and more.
The cottage is finished to a high standard with a wood-burning stove for those days when you need warming up or to enjoy curling up in front of after a full day outdoors. Outside there are dedicated lawned gardens for BBQ’s or for the children to burn off any excess energy!
The cottage accommodates 8 and consists of a ground floor entrance lobby and cloakroom with toilet, fully equipped large kitchen, separate lounge and dining room, and a flexible double/twin bedroom with ensuite. The first floor has a further 2 flexible double/twin bedrooms and one double room with ensuite. There is a family bathroom, with a bath, shower, and toilet. The cottage has WIFI throughout and a TV in the lounge.
Port Eynon is the most southerly point of the Gower peninsula and surrounded by stunning coast and countryside vistas - there is nothing like the view over the village with the sea stretching to the horizon as you begin your descent down into Port Eynon via the winding lane. The former fishing village is a popular beach resort and although there is no port as the name suggests, it was once dominated by oyster fishing and the remains of the oyster pools and old harbour can be seen at low tide. The Blue Flag beach is backed by magnificent sand dunes to stretch your legs. Walking to the west, the Salt House ruins at the headland are a favourite walking destination and were once used by smugglers, whilst to the east you will find Horton or for those with more energy the beach provides direct access to the coastal path. Rainy day? A short car journey will deliver you to Mumbles village which has a wide range of attractions from Oystermouth Castle and its Victorian pier to a range of independent boutiques, quirky galleries, and eateries.
Located in Swansea, this cottage is near the beach. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Whiteford National Nature Reserve and WWT Llanelli Wetland Centre, while Egypt Centre and Ceri Richards Gallery are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider National Trust Rhossili Shop & Visitor Centre, or check out an event or a game at Perriswood Archery & Falconry Centre.
