A great base to explore Bassenthwaite Lake and the Lakes Distillery just 4 miles away, and Keswick and Derwentwater 11 miles. The market town of Cockermouth, which was the birthplace of Wordsworth, is just 8 miles away. Walk the Cumbria Way (11 miles away) and the magnificent fells and peaks of Skiddaw and Blencathra (9 and 17 miles respectively). For outdoor enthusiasts, there are opportunities to enjoy mountaineering, rock climbing, horse riding, paragliding, hang gliding, canoeing, kayaking and sailing in the area. Or enjoy a visit to The Theatre by the Lake in Keswick, where there is also a cinema. The entrance to this property is through a large porch and opens into the open plan lounge/dining/kitchen area. There is a direct view of Binsey and the surrounding fells from the lounge window. The cosy lounge has comfortable seating and a Smart TV with Sky Q. There are beams and stone wall features which all add to the character. There is a round glass topped table in the dining area, which will easily sit two. The kitchen has an electric hob and oven, fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer, and the oil Aga provides some welcome background heat in the winter months. Climbing the cottage style staircase, you will find the bedroom with its king size bed and an en suite shower room with a shower and WC. The second floor mezzanine level overlooking the bedroom has a single bed and a comfortable chair to relax and read some of the wide selection of books on offer. There is a lovely private raised and enclosed garden with views over the surrounding fells and fields. A lovely spot to sit out on a summer s evening to dine alfresco and enjoy a glass wine or have a coffee. There is private parking for two cars.
