The immediate area offers amazing walking and biking routes through the Borders Abbeys Way: a beautiful circular walk spanning 65 miles passing Jedburgh (5 miles), Melrose, Kelso and Dryburgh s 12th century abbeys (17 miles). Only 2.5 miles away is the picture postcard village of Denholm with its excellent local amenities including quality eateries, friendly local inns, butchers, a general store, a post office and a garage. Born in Scotland, which is a local craft brewery and distillery with a restaurant, grass hill sledging and outdoor ice skating in the winter months is just 4 miles away. Visit Mary Queen of Scots Visitor Centre, and Jedburgh Castle Jail and Museum (both 5 miles). Step inside this charming cottage from a flight of stone steps into the vestibule, a perfect place to store your outdoor clothing. Move through to the light and bright lounge, relax on the comfortable sofas after a day out exploring the beautiful local countryside. Enjoy a great movie on the Smart TV and on those cooler evenings light up the lovely roaring wood burner. There is also a comfortable dining area in the lounge to enjoy romantic meals. Next to this is the well equipped kitchen with an electric oven and hob, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. Heading up the stairs you will find the spacious king size bedroom with ample storage space and lovely countryside views.
