Ashford in the Water is a picture postcard, popular Derbyshire village, located in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Offering a country pub and a village shop which has a long tradition of welcoming visitors and serves food and drink. Indulge in the restful surroundings and take a picnic along the banks of the River Wye by the Sheepwash Bridge. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within 6 miles, alternatively you could meander through the shops and cafes of Bakewell (3 miles), home to a weekly market and the renowned Bakewell Pudding. Its twin spa town, Buxton, is 14 miles away and offers a lively arts scene including an opera house, while the Monsal Dale (2 miles) is a beautiful destination where you can enjoy the outstanding scenery on foot. Step into the cottage and into the open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. Put your feet up on the comfy sofa in front of the smart TV, or curl up in the armchair with a good book in front of the electric wood burner effect fire. The kitchen offers everything you need to rustle up a good meal, including an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher and microwave. Come together around the dining table and plan the day's activities ahead. There is a handy storage cupboard great for coats, boots, and any other equipment you may need to bring. Heading upstairs, you will find the master bedroom with a double bed and an inbuilt wardrobe. There is a further single bedroom with built in wardrobe space and a skylight window. The shower room offers an enclosed shower and WC. To the front of the cottage is a pretty enclosed courtyard garden with seating, a good spot to sit and enjoy the fresh air.
