High on the hill, this delightful cottage has far reaching panoramic views. Bikes can be hired at Middleton Top s restored engine house just over a mile away for the High Peak Trail. Walks/cycle trails go to Black Rocks, Carsington, Bonsall and the Cromford Canal, all within 6 miles. Middleton village is home to the National Stone Centre, Derbyshire Eco Centre, and two good pubs. The historic market town of Wirksworth is just a couple of miles away and home to independent shops, bars, restaurants and the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway. Carsington Water (5 miles) offers kayaking, cycling, and sailing, while Matlock Bath (4 miles) has a selection of cafes, ice cream parlours and the cable car to the Heights of Abraham. Matlock, Ashbourne, Bakewell and Chatsworth are all within 10 miles. The cottage entrance is reached via a flight of external steps. There is an entrance porch leading to the kitchen/diner which offers everything you need for a home away from home stay with an electric oven and hob, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, microwave, and wine fridge. Come together around the farmhouse dining table and plan your day. The cosy lounge is flooded with light and offers stunning views over the surrounding countryside. Relax on cosy sofas to watch a film on the TV or DVD player. Head upstairs to the king size bedroom with beautiful matching bedroom furniture and further stunning views. There is a cosy single bedroom too which looks over the tiered rear garden. The bathroom offers a shower over the bath and a WC. There are two delightful seating spots outside. The enclosed rear garden has the backdrop of a dramatic retaining stone wall with interesting planting in the nooks and crannies, and a table and chairs offering a pleasant space to sit and enjoy a meal outside. The front garden offers dramatic views and a bench to sit and take it all in. There is off road parking for one car.
