Just a mile away lies a Co-op Food where you can pick up any essentials, while a little further afield lies the Saplinbre House hotel with an on-site bar and restaurant serving fine local food a place to relax for a coffee or grab afternoon tea. Head to the Aberdeenshire Farming Museum, where you can relive the story of Aberdeenshire’s colourful farming history, or stroll around Aden Country Park in Mintlaw, offering 230 acres of wonderful parkland with its own arboretum and the remains of a ruined mansion, providing scenic walks along the banks of the lake and through the towering woodland. You are also within close reach of Peterhead, Aberdeenshire's biggest settlement, with plenty of sights and attractions worth visiting, including a wonderful stretch of golden sand. Alternatively, visit Cruden Bay and see its pretty harbour and the 16th-century ruins of Slains Castle, a picturesque fortress overlooking the cliffs. Once you’ve completed these charming rural towns, the city of Aberdeen awaits, home to a plethora of amenities including museums, art galleries, gorgeous parks, shops and the popular Codona’s Amusement Park, which is sure to be loved by the little ones.
