Previously the old chapel of the original estate in the 19th century, it has been created with a focus on a luxurious and comfortable interior. The large living area forms the heart of the cottage with plenty of seating, a large fireplace and dual-aspect windows over-looking the private gardens. The fully equipped open-plan kitchen/dining room has all you may need to rustle up a homely meal, with an adjacent dining area seating eight guests making this the perfect space for quality time with your loved ones. The cottage has two kingsize double bedrooms dressed with sumptuous White Company linen, one with en-suite shower room, and a bedroom upstairs with four single beds and small en-suite bathroom. The main bathroom offers a beautiful roll-top bath tub and double rain shower. Evenings can be spent dining under the stars or in the BBQ cabin shared with Torrnalaich Cottage next door.
Kirnan Estate is a magical place where you can relax, unwind, and find inspiration from the natural beauty that surrounds you, an ideal base for exploring Argyll and the Kintyre Peninsula with its stunning scenery and rugged coastline. Within season, complimentary salmon, sea trout and brown trout fishing is available on the Estate in season when guests can enjoy complimentary private double-bank fishing (fly fishing only) on 2½ miles of river on the River Add. You can also take part in the clay pigeon shooting, yoga classes and creative art classes that can be enjoyed on site.
The area is surrounded by Neolithic and early Bronze Age monuments, ancient castles, standing stones and ruined forts. There are many forest trails, offering excellent mountain biking, or the Crinan Canal towpath is ideal for easy walking and cycling. There’s an excellent pub and restaurant around a 2-mile flat walk along the glen, and a short 5-mile drive takes you to Lochgilphead with a variety of shops, cafés, restaurants, a swimming pool, golf course and a sports centre. The fishing village of Tarbert (20 miles) gives you easy access to ferry points across Kintyre travelling to Gigha, Arran, Islay and Portavadie. Further afield but offering a great day out are the towns of Oban, the Gateway to the Isles to the north, Inveraray, the capital of Argyll, to the east and Campbeltown to the far south on the Kintyre Peninsula.
