Situated within the beautiful Blairquhan Estate, MacKenzie cottage is the ideal retreat for a secluded short break. Surrounded by stunning views of unspoiled Ayrshire countryside, over 200 acres of private woodland, a garden pond and a huge walled garden, this four-bedroom self-catering cottage is newly refurbished and offers all amenities our guests will ever need to make their stay very comfortable and unforgettable. .

Situated within the stable block of Blairquhan estate, MacKenzie Cottage is one of the conversions from the former Coachman's House, Harness rooms and Stables of Blairquhan Castle. Downstairs there is a large living room, kitchen, twin bedroom and shower-room with toilet, upstairs there are a further 3 twin/double bedrooms and a bathroom with shower over the bath. Excellent WiFi is available in this cottage and it's complimentary to our guests.

There is a stretch of River Girvan at the back of the cottage where our guests can enjoy fly fishing. Fishing permit can be purchased from Blairquhan estate office.

Blairquhan Estate is very close to many renowned Ayrshire golf courses - Trump Turnberry, Prestwick Golf Club, Royal Troon are all within 30 minutes drive making our cottages the ideal base for a golfing holiday.


Located in Maybole, this cottage is in a rural area. Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Burns Cottage and Museum are cultural highlights, and some of the area's landmarks include Blairquhan Castle and Crossraguel Abbey. Traveling with kids? Consider Scottish Maritime Museum, or check out an event or a game at Ayr Racecourse. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking nearby.
