Tucked away in the pretty postcard village of Elsworth in Cambridge, is this lovely three-bedroom Potton cottage, Fern Cottage. Located on the site of the former village Post Office and enjoying easy access to the bustling city of Cambridge, Fern Cottage is a fantastic pet-friendly dwelling for a group or family of six plus their canine companions. Park-up on the driveway with space for up to four cars, before making your way into your stylish new abode. Be welcomed into the spacious kitchen/diner, where you can look forward to whipping up flavourful delights in the well-equipped kitchen, ready to tuck-in at the dining table for six over a bottle of celebratory fizz. On warmer days, why not make dinner an alfresco affair and savour dinner out in the rear, enclosed garden as your pooches run and play? Just off the kitchen/diner, you will find a handy utility room housing a washing machine and tumble dryer, perfect for keeping your holiday wardrobe fresh! As the evening cools, retire to the sitting room where you can snuggle up in front of a family favourite on the Smart TV, as your four-legged friends curl up in front of the woodburning stove. There is also a snug next door where the little ones can watch their favourites, so there will be no arguments over the remote! Completing the ground floor is a wet room for your convenience. Climb the stairs up to the first floor, where you will find three well-appointed bedrooms, a king-size with its own en-suite shower room, a second king-size and a twin with two single sized beds, which are served by a sleek bathroom, perfect for a soak after exploring your surroundings. Wander into the local village, where you will find the two welcoming pubs of The Poacher and George & Dragon, ideal for those evenings when you don’t feel like cooking! Alternatively, if you don’t feel like venturing out, you can pick up essentials and ingredients at the local village shop. Make your way into the beautiful market town of St Ives and stroll through the charming streets; named one of the Sunday Times top 10 places to live, the charming town is within easy reach by car, or a lovely long bike ride. You can also spend a lovely afternoon at the National Trust's Wimpole Estate, home to a grand hall and surrounded by perfectly manicured gardens. Take the short drive over to Fen Drayton, where wildlife enthusiasts will have found their haven at the RSPB Fen Drayton Lakes which stretches for 25 miles. Continue onto Little Paxton, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the Paxton Pits Nature Reserve or spend a day enjoying the delights of the Southlake Aqua Park. Further afield you will find the thriving city of Cambridge, where you can tour the prestigious university and its picturesque University of Cambridge Botanic Gardens, wander The Fitzwilliam Museum, soak up the rich architecture of the Gothic chapel at the King's University College or the 16th-century Great Gate at St John’s, and end the day with your favourite tipple at The Cambridge Gin Laboratory. Foodies will delight at the excellent selection of Michelin Star restaurants on offer, including Twenty Two, Midsummer House and Navadhanya. For a memorable escape choose Fern Cottage.
