Cariad Cottage, Llandeilo

Carmarthenshire. Sleeps up to 2

Surrounded by the tranquil beauty of the Dinefwr Park Estate, Cariad Cottage offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life and the chance to explore Carmarthenshire or even Pembrokeshire and Ceredigion. With its wood burner and rustic charm, this cottage is the perfect romantic getaway for couples and dog lovers.

All rooms are situated on the ground floor. There is one double bedroom, one single bedroom, a cosy living room, shower room and toilet and a small but fully functioning kitchen. There is also an enclosed garden, which is a real plus for dog owners.

Step outside the front door and you’re within easy reach of rolling hills, golden beaches, and peaceful gardens. The National Botanical Garden of Wales is a 20-minute drive away and Aberglasney Gardens, Brechfa Forest, Paxton's Tower and Dolaucothi Goldmines are all close by, as are the market towns of Llandovery and Carmarthen.

There’s also lots of pubs, cafés and delis within walking distance or just a short drive away. Our favourites include the Angel Inn Salem and the Plough in Rhosmaen. Llandeilo itself boasts many small independent shops selling everything from local crafts to specialist cookware and bespoke chocolate and ice cream.

If a trip to the seaside is what you are after, you can take a one-hour drive to New Quay or Tenby, where you can enjoy boat trips, beaches and fish and chips. You could also stop off at Colby Woodland Gardens or Llanerchaeron, both cared for by the National Trust. Both places are known for walking, gardens and delicious cream teas.

From the train station, you can get to the cottage in 15 minutes or taxi (pre-booking needed). Or you can get buses from Carmarthen’s main bus station and Llandovery. The bus stop is a five-minute walk from the cottage.
