Located a 10-minute stroll from the Old Dee Bridge and the stunning walled city of Chester, comfortably sleeping 6 with 3 double bedrooms, 30 Overleigh Road is a gorgeous Grade II Listed worker’s cottage built c1890 for the Duke of Westminster's Grosvenor Estate. Contemporary, full of character and quirky features, the cottage is ideally situated in beautiful Handbridge - with everything you need on your doorstep.
Beautiful wooden beams, log burning stoves, limestone and oiled wood floors, with a lovely enclosed outside courtyard, the cottage is packed with character, cosy and snug in the winter and light and sunny in the summer.
Upstairs, the bedrooms (twin, double and king) have original fireplaces, solid oak beams, soft and luxurious French linen bedding, duck down and feather pillows, duvets and super-comfortable mattresses.
The downstairs front sitting room has a log burner, smart TV with integrated DVD and lounging for 6…Next door, the separate dining room has a beamed inglenook fireplace with log burner, large farmhouse style dining table with plenty of room for 6 to dine and relax, with a stereo and a cabinet full of books and games for you to enjoy during your stay. Situated next to the dining room are the kitchen and utility, originally part of the outbuildings and fully equipped for a home from home with a Range Master gas oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and dryer.
The bathroom is situated off the downstairs hallway with a rainfall style shower (water pressure is great!), bath, loo and sink. We provide soft fluffy white towels and Neal’s Yard Remedies Bath and Shower wash and Hand Wash.
A travel cot and high chair are available on request. There is a fire guard for the log burners.
Outside there is an enclosed courtyard with table and seating for 6. It provides a secure place to park your bikes or pushchairs. There is also an outside loo, in addition to the one inside the house.
A welcome hamper will await you with essentials and something nice to nibble and sip when you arrive.
*Other essentials are provided too - sugar, salt, pepper, olive oil, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid (clothes and dishes), loo roll, kitchen roll etc. If you need to arrange food on arrival, we can help with that too
Logs and kindling are provided on arrival (small charge for additional)
