This is definitely:
a special place for a romantic weekend away
a marvellous spot to chill out
a special treat if you are having an active weekend (lots of inspiring cycling and walking in the area, and of course the great North Wales action attractions like Zip World and Surf Snowdonia).
The luxurious spa bathroom on the lower level is an extra treat – stone walls, freestanding bath and even an open fire grate with lots of candles, very atmospheric!
There is no internal stairway between the upper and lower levels, but we supply bathrobes so you can comfortably wander the short path between the upper and lower levels your garden area.
And sitting under the stars in your own wood fired hot tub is not to be missed (for your use only!)... let the aroma of the burning wood carry you away to relaxation central! (Firewood for both the firepit and the hot tub is purchased on-site at a friendly rate; option to have tub pre-heated also).
The Bothy is set in the grounds of Cae Gwyn, a lovely Georgian country home. Included are: gazebo with panorama of the beautiful surrounding hills; picnic table to laze and have a glass of wine while you prep your delicious BBQ; cuddle up and watch movies (... or even stream to your ipad while you laze in the tub!); Kitchenette for cooking and late night hot chocolate! (mini fridge, hotplate, microwave, all the usual crockery and utensils).
Or visit some of our great local eateries, with our local pub (bespoke gins and craft beers just a walk across the fields) and North Wales' Best Country Pub & Restaurant 2018 just a few minutes drive away ( a favourite Pub/restaurant with fabulous multi level outdoor terraces and inspiring views into the Vale of Clwyd is even closer).
We are just 1 hours drive from Liverpool/Manchester and 30min from Chester... you'd never know it!
NB: As you might imagine, some IMPORTANT CHANGES have to occur, because COVID-19 remains prevalent in the UK.
Firstly, because Cae Gwyn is our family home, we have to consider the increased exposure to our family. In this regard, we are requesting guests to bring their own bed linen & towels:
• King sheets x1
• King duvet cover x1
• pillowcases x4
• towels
We will supply a (COVID appropriate) duvet inner and liner & comfy pillows x4. (Unfortunately robes & slippers will not be available at this time)
Secondly, we will be meeting new industry cleaning protocols to ensure you feel safe coming to a new environment. We will supply hand sanitiser, antibacterial spray and wipes for your use during your stay. Rubbish bins & bags are provided and guests are requested to take rubbish with them as they check-out.
Thirdly, there will be an optional no-contact check-in. Please note because of the extra requirements, earliest check in will therefore be 4pm.
We trust, in the current circumstances, you understand these changes, and we would like to offer you a complimentary bottle of Prosecco-on-ice in recognition of this.
