Tucked away in the little village of Llandrillo, Denbighshire is this picturesque, detached cottage, Little Nook. This two-bedroom cottage is a lovely base for couples or friends to explore the Welsh countryside, located close to Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, with original cottage features, off-road parking, and an idyllic, enclosed garden. Little Nook has an open-plan kitchen/diner, which is a great space for cooking and catching up with loved ones. The kitchen has all the essential amenities you could want, including a dishwasher and washer/dryer, as well as oak worktops, exposed beams and underfloor heating for added comfort. After preparing your evening meal, dine at the table set near the warmth of the woodburning stove. The sitting room is a great space to unwind on the sofas in front of the flat-screen TV with Freesat or choose from a selection of books and board games. Outside, you'll find your private sanctuary in the well-kept, enclosed garden with outdoor seating and views of the Berwyn range. Savour a cold beverage beneath the trellis with wisteria and grape vines growing all along, which often host birds' nests which you can spy from above from the large bedroom windows. Both bedrooms have contemporary decor, double beds, exposed beams, and Velux windows framing beautiful views, as well as en-suite shower rooms for extra privacy. The peaceful village of Llandrillo has a selection of dining options such as The Berwyn Restaurant or the 18th-century Tyddyn Llan, whilst you can stock up at the local convenience store. Start your holiday with a day out in Bala, just on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, where Llyn Tegid (Bala Lake) has a variety of watersports on offer from paddle boarding, canoes and kayaking to hiring boats and swimming, or perhaps you'd prefer mountain hikes up the Berwyn range? Bala Lake Railway offers an excellent day out on heritage locomotives, with gorgeous mountain and lake views from your window. However, further into this glorious National Park, you'll find Coed y Brenin Forest Park for hiking and biking, and Zip World Llechwedd set in an ancient quarry mine, ideal for anyone seeking an adventure. Close by to Little Nook, you'll also find the town of Llangollen with plenty of Welsh heritage to discover, including the 14th-century Plas Newydd Historic House & Gardens, the ruins of Castell Dinas Brân, and train journeys from Llangollen Railway along the River Dee through an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Be sure to visit the National Trust owned Chirk Castle, an 18th-century Medieval castle with formal gardens to wander. With so much history and beautiful scenery to discover, Little Nook is sure to be an unforgettable holiday in North Wales.
