Down House is an imposing and elegant residence situated with views over the golf course and within a few minutes’ walk of the fabulous beach at Crooklets Bay and also the centre of Bude which has an excellent array of restaurants and shops. Noted for its charm, Bude is a terrific centre to base your holiday and offers fine dining, a host of sports activities along with the hugely popular surfing. Local beaches are all easily accessible from the house and a holiday here will leave you feeling chilled and relaxed.
Down House offers five lovely bedrooms and five bath/shower rooms and the whole has been exquisitely renovated and furnished to the highest standards. The king size and double bedrooms are both en-suite and there is a double bedroom on the ground floor with a shower room adjacent. This is ideal for anyone who has any walking or mobility difficulties and all the living areas are also on the ground floor meaning no steps or stairs. A further super king bedroom upstairs has far reaching views over the golf course and there is a terrific four bedded bunk room ideal for children. The family bathroom has a cast iron roll topped bath as well as a shower and there is a full wet room with two showers on the ground floor – perfect for rinsing off after a day at the beach or a good surf.
The Mark Wilkinson kitchen boasts a Rangemaster oven and all modern amenities with granite worktops making cooking an absolute joy. This leads to the open plan Orangery that invites relaxation and is perfect for dining and spending hours chatting – perfect for those long, warm and friendly evenings that remain in the memory for so long. Should the evenings chill a little you can light the wood burning stove which swivels to give either a glorious glow over the dining table or the comfy seating area – once you have slumped in the deep and well cushioned sofas you will not want to move! A small children’s den will keep them out of your hair and with a completely separate sitting room, again with a wood burning stove, there is masses of space for everyone to spread out and do their own thing.
Four televisions, two DVD players, Wi-Fi, Sky and an I-Pod docking station give plenty of scope for entertainment and the garden is well equipped with tables and chairs and barbecue and catches the evening sun.
Down House is a stunning property in all senses. Perfect for large family gatherings and for friends wishing to get together and celebrate special occasions. A lovely house that creates a very special holiday home and one that is highly recommended.
Located in Bude, this vacation home is near theme parks and near the beach. South West Coast Path Section 10 Trailhead and South West Coast Path Section 11 Trailhead are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Harlequinns Leisure and The Gnome Reserve and Wildflower Garden. Traveling with kids? Consider Docton Mill Gardens & Tea Rooms and The Milky Way Adventure Park. Scuba diving and snorkeling offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling and mountain biking nearby.
