The Lizard truly is an experience with so much diversity to discover on your holiday. Traditional fishing villages like Coverack, Cadgwith, Mullion and Porthleven are well worth a visit with beautiful beaches and fantastic local pubs and some of the freshest seafood around. Mullion is the largest village situated on the Lizard Peninsula and boasts several quality pubs, cafes and restaurants among its various attractions which include, four beaches and the towering cliffs of Mullion Cove - a fishing harbour. There are some breath-taking coastal walks, which really should include a trip around the Lizard Lighthouse, Britain’s most southerly point, on a clear, windy day there cannot be many more dramatic places in the country. There is a regular ferry in season between Helford River and Helford Passage to the north, with decent pubs on both sides of the river and the gorgeous Trebah Gardens just north of the river in Mawnan Smith. The Helford River and Falmouth Harbour are both Meccas for sailing and are buzzing with activity in the summer months, usually culminating in village regattas scattered throughout July and August. Beach 1½ miles.
