Region: Cornwall’s visitors are constantly tempted back to the beautiful coastline, tiny fishing villages, hidden coves and the world-class surfing. Whatever the reason, Cornwall has long cemented its place as one of Britain’s premier holiday destinations.

Town: The small rural community of Gunnislake is on the heavily forested banks of the River Tamar. It has a few of local bars and a few stores. The village is notable for being at one end of the picturesque Tamar Valley Railway, which runs along the riverbank to Plymouth on a regular basis. Dartmoor, the south and north coast beaches, and the attractions of Cornwall's far west are all within easy reach. Tavistock, with its pannier market, bars, and restaurants, is close by, as is Calstock, a popular fishing village known for its crafts and festivals, while the Donkey Sanctuary and Cotehele House and Gardens (NT) are also within easy reach.

Located in Callington, this lodge is in a rural area. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Tamar Valley and Dartmoor National Park, while Calstock Arts Centre and Limekiln Gallery are cultural highlights. Traveling with kids? Consider Country Cheeses, or check out an event or a game at Home Park. Break out the clubs and hit the links with a golf course nearby, or seek out an adventure with hiking/biking trails, rock climbing, and cycling.
