About our home
A recently built -Award Winning architect designed oak framed property located in the seaside village of Trevone Bay, near Padstow on the North Cornwall coast.
The house is largely open to the roof revealing its arch-braced oak trusses and rafters with a staircase leading up to another 'lounge/snug' area which enjoys some seaviews across Trevone Bay...a perfect place to catch a spectacular sunset!
The property sleeps 6 in two double bedrooms (both with two Kingsize double beds) and a third studio/bedroom with a daybed (which can be made up as one single bed, 2 separate beds or adjoined/pushed together.) There's one en-suite and large family bathroom, a spacious kitchen with 'Lacanche' range cooker, two integral fridges and dishwasher. The Utility room houses a large upright freezer and washer/dryer machine.
The spacious open-plan dinning room area flows into a generous lounge with huge natural-Bathstone fireplace.
There's ample parking for several cars and the gardens at the front and rear include various exotic plants and palm trees in keeping with its coastal location. A south-west facing granite cobbled courtyard is a favourite area to sit and eat -whilst catching the sun.
The house is located on the edge of the village along a quiet private (no-through) tarmac road and also enjoys a private access directly to a footpath with a five minute walk to the sea and Trevone's two spectacular beaches.
The main beach has gently sloping golden sand with some little alcoves to sit in and sunbathe.
Whilst the second beach (known by locals as Rocky beach) has a 'natural' seawater swimming pool, surrounded by dozens of rockpools and gullies just waiting to be explored… a haven for wildlife where crabs and starfish, resident oyster-catchers, waders, cormorants and seals can usually be found.
The village has a thriving local population who love to make visitors feel part of their community and the local Well Parc Inn serves good food and fine ales each day of the year. There's also a beach cafe/restaurant, a Farm shop supplying an extensive range of fresh, quality local products and a church. The village is an excellent location for visiting other attractions like the National Trust's Cornish flagship property - Lanhydrock Country House and Gardens, Bodmin Moor and seven other sandy bays are all within 20 minutes drive as are two Championship golf courses.
The cliffs to the north east of the beach provide scenic coastal footpath walks and views to Hawkers Cove, the river Camel estuary and the popular harbour town of Padstow 1.5 miles away. Padstow itself is a fine example of a historic, working Cornish fishing port and is largely unspoilt, with its beautiful harbour and good shopping facilities, cafes and restaurants including world renowned Rick Stein's -Seafood Restaurant and establishments and many old and friendly public houses most serving excellent pub food and real ale. Around the harbour you can also find craft and gift shops, 'artists' studios, clothes shops, bookshops and much more including the very popular Camel Trail Cycle route which winds its way along the river Camel estuary to Wadebridge and then rises up gradually to the hills of Bodmin Moor.
Trevone Bay is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty and Cornwall's beaches are rated amongst the best in the UK and even the world.
The property also enjoys all mains services and amenities.
Sorry no smoking or pets permitted.
POPULAR CORNWALL!
The picturesque county of Cornwall has recently become an extremely popular location for the filming of TV series such as 'Doc Martin' and 'Poldark.' It's also the home of several TV celebs including Rick Stein with his world famous 'Seafood Restaurant' at Padstow and Jamie Oliver's 'Fifteen Cornwall Restaurant' overlooking the sea at nearby Watergate Bay.
Some of Poldark's horse-riding scenes were filmed on the flat grassy cliff-tops above Trevone's main sandy beach with spectacular backdrop of the Atlantic Ocean and also on nearby wide-open sandy expanses of Tregirls beach at the mouth of the river Camel estuary near Padstow (surely one of Cornwall's hidden treasures and best kept secrets!)
Many visitors to Cornwall find it fascinating to discover locations of their fav TV programmes during holiday stays.
