Meticulous care and attention has been given in furnishing Almond cottage, with almost all pieces being reclaimed, restored, upholstered or painted in a shabby chic vintage finish. Almond cottage is big on comfort and beds! From the exquisite vintage super king that splits into two singles to the sumptuous French Linen upholstered bunk beds, definitely suitable for adults. A good night's sleep is essential to enjoy your stay so most mattresses are memory foam or luxury pocket sprung and cashmere topped. The master bedroom hosts an opulent William Holland cooper bateau bath to soak away life's stresses & strains to rejuvenate. The upstairs bathroom has a nickel slipper bath, with toiletries included while downstairs there is a stylish wet room.

Almond cottage dates back to 1873 and has been gutted and sympathetically restored over a 4 year period to provide a comfortable vintage chic holiday home, incorporating a bit of luxury and all mod cons. There is no mass produced furniture in the cottage and many pieces show their history with imperfections and patina.

Whatever the weather Almond cottage caters for it, from lounging in the landscaped garden in summer to snuggling in front of the open fire in winter, or perhaps trying out your culinary skills on the range cooker in the well equipped kitchen with underfloor heating and reclaimed marble worktops. Children can be kept entertained too with plenty of toys.

Almond cottage location is superb, being only a 5 minutes stroll from the Lido and award winning King George V memorial walk, with its sub tropical gardens overlooking the Hayle Estuary. A further 15 minutes walk brings you to the beginning of 3 miles of golden sands & turquoise sea overlooking St Ives Bay. A 10 minute drive and your reach the surfing beaches and schools at Gwithians. Much of this stretch is dog friendly all year round.

Hayle is a small up and coming estuary town with a big history. Once being the world's most important mining port Hayle gained UNESCO world Heritage status in 2006. The beach starts at the mouth of the beautiful estuary which is an international quality bird watching spot, (The estuary is owned by the RSBP and is a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest) and ends at Godvery lighthouse. With stunning walks and views along the cliff tops, it well deserved being awarded Cornwall's first 'walkers are welcome' status. Hayle also houses two of the award winning Mr B's ice cream shops- the best ice cream around- vegan options available :) It has several restaurants, cafes and supermarkets and is home to Paradise Park wildlife sanctuary and jungle barn. The new multi-million pound development at North quay hosts, restaurants cafe and shops right on the waterfront.

Hayle is a great base for exploring the surrounding area from The Eden Project in the north to Lands End in the south . Across the bay is St Ives town with its stunning Tate gallery and nearby there are many little seaside Ports with cafes and artisan shops, for example Mousehole, Marazion & Porthleven to name but a few.

Babes in arms, children over 3 years and up to 3 dogs are welcome, (4 miniture dogs) but please read the age restrictions on bedrooms to ensure Almond cottage meets your party's requirements. Almond cottage and grounds are strictly no smoking.
