Pentreath is a delightful, four-bedroom fisherman's cottage in the heart of the twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, known as Cornwall’s ‘Forgotten Corner’, with a rich history in fishing and smuggling. Offering the perfect blend of chic and function with original artwork and hand-dyed bed linens, this dog-friendly escape for families, friends, and couples alike has been thoughtfully curated to provide the ultimate Cornish retreat. Perfectly located near local amenities and the beach, Pentreath provides the perfect base from which to explore the wonders of Cornwall, whilst offering all the little luxuries to feel at home. After parking up in a nearby car park, travel on foot for a short distance to reach your new abode. Step indoors to be greeted by the lovely sitting room, with plenty of plush seating, wooden floors underfoot, and a light feel throughout, where you can cosy up in front of the woodburning stove with a good book. If you're looking for a quieter spot, find the snug, a great place for catching up on your favourite shows or playing with the children with the toys, games and puzzles, thoughtfully provided by the owner, with access to the enclosed courtyard, the ideal space for a late-night tipple. The kitchen is fully-equipped, even complete with a woodburning stove/pizza oven if you fancy experimenting, whilst the dining area is encircled by a delightful chalkboard, providing plenty of inspiration for your stay! Upstairs is where you can catch some rest; three of the four bedrooms host their own Smart TV, for that extra bit of relaxation throughout your stay, while the fourth bedroom offers a bunk and single, ideal for children or friends sharing. Up on the second floor, the king-size bedroom enjoys plenty of space, allowing for a suite-like feel, perfectly suited to the luxurious theme running throughout, also complete with an en-suite shower room for another touch of privacy. The second-floor double follows Pentreath's coastal theme, accentuating blue hues and carefully-picked accessories to immerse you fully into the area, also complete with an en-suite cloakroom, whilst the final bedroom, the first floor king-size, is complete with sumptuous bedding and matching accessories, a haven for rest. Finishing off the property is a family bathroom where you can soak your muscles after a day of walking, along with a handy ground-floor shower room for convenience after a sandy day at the beach. Set off and explore your surroundings, with a stroll around the twin villages of Kingsand and Cawsand, the South West Coastal Path, the Englands longest coastal path runs direclty outside Pentreath's front door. Kingsand Beach, just a short walk from Pentreath, is dog-friendly all year around and makes the ideal walking spot with your canine companions, while Cawsand is the choice for the adventurous ones in your group; kayaks and paddleboards can be hired from Cawsand, and there is also a ferry to Plymouth directly from the beach! Girt Beach is another nearby option, or you can travel up the coast a little on foot to reach the beautiful Sandways Beach, or by car to Whitsand Bay for a lesson at their Surf School. Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park is just a short drive away or a longer walk from a lane near Pentreath; here, you can explore the manicured grounds and take part in a variety of activities such as alpaca trekking, adventure segway, and archery to name a few! There’s a wealth of characterful pubs in the area for your evening tipple and a hearty pub dinner including The Halfway House Inn, serving traditional fare, The Devonport Inn, specialising in seafood, The Rising Sun, ideal for an afternoon drink, The Cross Keys Inn, offering a diverse menu, and The Old Ship Inn Cawsand. You will be spoilt for choice with further daytime eateries including Olives tapas bar (open until 9pm), The Old Bakery, known for its sourdough loaves and takeaway, artisan pizzas, The Stores, home to delicious Italian pastries, and good coffee, and The Bay Bar and Restaurant, which is one of the owner’s favourite for its view. Take a leisurely stroll around the charming village of Kingsand and enjoy the local amenities, including The Rising Sun pub, and The Halfway House Inn, before taking a moment to appreciate the stunning, coastal scenery. Board a ferry and take a trip to Plymouth and explore the Barbican, visit the National Marine Aquarium, or take a shopping spree along the cobbled streets and browse the independent boutiques. With the expanse of Cornwall ready to explore, fill your itinerary by visiting many landmarks and ancient ruins, viewing the many remarkable art galleries and museums, or simply spend your time upon the sandy shoreline of the county, truly experiencing its beauty.
