Beautiful family and pet friendly home set in a magical coastal valley in the far west of Cornwall near St Just and Sennen. The house benefits from incredible sea views, looking straight down the valley to the sea, it is also surrounded by stunning lush gardens.
This charming retreat can be found down a winding Cornish country lane which leads to the lovely, lush, sub- tropical Cot Valley. Overlooking a bubbling stream sits a large terrace with incredible sea views perfect for alfresco dining and watching the incredible sunsets.
Inside, the open plan living space is light and bright with an open plan kitchen and dining space. The cottage is reverse level with a king size bedroom and single bedroom on the first floor, along with the sitting room, the kitchen/dining room and family bathroom. Downstairs is the second double bedroom and a WC, you have direct access to the garden from here. There is also a utility room with washing machine and tumble drier on the lower floor.
The kitchen is bright, airy and well equipped with large gas Range cooker and American style fridge/freezer, there is a lovely dining table with plenty of space to seat 5 people and a patio door out to the stunning terrace. The sitting room is spacious with bi-folding doors out to the terrace and views straight out to sea. There is an open fire perfect for curling up with a book in the event of rainy days and plenty of entertainment such as DVD’s and board games.
Just a 10 minute stroll from the cottage you will find the stunning Porth Nanven beach, perfect for a morning dip or an evening BBQ. This beach rarely ever gets busy and you will find you often have it to yourself. The more popular surfing beach Sennen is a 15 minute drive away. There are many stunning walks in every direction from the cottage as you are right on the South West Coast Path.
Just up the road, St Just is a friendly little town with pubs, cafes and delicatessens as well as several art galleries including Kurt Jackson’s Jackson Foundation. Nearby gastro pubs for foodies include The Gurnard’s Head at Zennor and The Old Coastguard at Mousehole.
Outside Brook Cottage has a charming lush garden with a bubbling brook running through, there are plenty of spots to sit with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine and just enjoy the wild life and the peace. Children and pets will need to be supervised whilst in the garden. Our guests are politely reminded that they are responsible for their own safety whilst enjoying the gardens. There is also a warm outside shower, ideal for removing sand after a day’s surfing!
Located in Penzance, this vacation home is in a rural area and near the beach. South West Coast Path Section 22 Trailhead and Tanglewood Wild Garden are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those looking for area attractions can visit Sennen Surfing Centre and Trengwainton Garden. Traveling with kids? Consider Grand Casino Amusements and National Dahlia Collection. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.
