Limestone Cottage is an attractive period property built from local stone and located in the village of Carron, in the heart of the Burren in County Clare. Offering comfortable accommodation for 4 plus a child, this is the ideal holiday cottage for a family looking to explore the delights of western Ireland. There's plenty of accommodation, with not one but two sitting areas, one with an open fire and the other with a solid fuel stove set in a fabulous stone fireplace. This room also has an original stone floor and exposed beams which give the cottage plenty of rustic charm. There's also a generously sized and fully equipped kitchen diner. A cloakroom with WC and basin completes the ground floor accommodation. Upstairs there are two bedrooms, one double and one twin with an extra child-size bed, plus a family bathroom with bathtub and overhead shower, WC and washbasin. With exposed stone floors and wood beams, Limestone Cottage is a charming country cottage. Outside there's a pretty cottage garden and a terrace area ideal for a drink after a busy day sightseeing. This is the ideal rural and peaceful spot to relax and unwind. There's also off road parking for 2 cars. Nearby Carron has been inhabited since ancient times and is renowned for its megalithic monuments, forts and standing stones. The village itself has spectacular views over the landscape of the Burren, an area of limestone known for its incredible wild flowers and alpine species. A pub and restaurant are a few minutes walk and 3 national walking trails are within easy reach. County Clare is one of the most rugged and spectacular areas of Ireland, known for the astonishing 230m tall Cliffs of Moher as well as the Burren with its castles, caves, dolmens, forts and perfumery. Ennis is the historic county town filled with boutiques, cafes and restaurants, while Bunratty Castle and the Burren Birds of Prey Centre are both well worth a visit. With plenty of walking trails, a wealth of history and some incredible flora and fauna, County Clare is a truly unmissable destination. With so much to see and do on the doorstep, Limestone Cottage is the ideal rural base for a family holiday exploring spectacular western Ireland.
