Just a short drive away is the seaside resort of Newcastle with its award winning promenade, cafes, restaurants and welcoming gastro pubs. It is also home to the world famous Royal County Down Golf Course and Tollymore Forest Park, where Game of Thrones was filmed. The town of Downpatrick lies north-east, and it is said to be the resting place of Saint Patrick, Ireland’s patron saint, with other historical attractions, Inch Abbey, Down County Museum and Saint Patrick’s Visitor Centre.
