The bustling city of Durham is just 10 miles away and is home to the historic cathedral, and a choice of fantastic shops and excellent museums. Other local highlights include the Vale of Durham, Tanfield Railway, Auckland Castle, the National Railway Museum and the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. On entering this welcoming and tastefully furnished single level holiday cottage you will find yourself in the spacious and inviting open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With plenty of comfortable seating, including a double sofa bed, Smart TV, DVD, music system and electric fire, the light and attractive lounge is an ideal space to unwind in at the end of a wonderful day. There is also a charming dining area. Going over to the stylishly designed kitchen you will find it fully equipped with an electric oven and gas hob, microwave, toaster, cafetiere, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. Exploring this lovely ground floor property further you will find a cosy master bedroom with a king size bed and plenty of storage space. You will also find a bathroom complete with a bath, walk in shower and WC. Stepping outside from the double doors in the lounge, you can relax and dine alfresco in the pretty garden which overlooks the rolling Durham countryside. There is ample private parking space for two cars. There is a secure cycle store available, and you can even bring your horse with you as stabling and a paddock are available on request.
