The quaint market town of Middleton-in-Teesdale offers a range of shops, pubs and places to eat and is surrounded by superb walking country, with high open moorland as well as pretty, wooded valleys. Close by, Barnard Castle stands on the site of an ancient Roman fort, and the medieval ruins of the castle still tower over the river and are well worth a visit. Whilst there are an abundance of things to do on your doorstep, Oak Cottage is wonderfully located for visiting the beautiful Lake District, and the popular city of Durham which are both just over an hour's drive away. This lovely property provides a memorable holiday experience in a delightful location.
