The proprietors of this lovely Cumbrian longhouse have lovingly renovated and expanded it to create a haven of understated elegance. The classic red sandstone structure, which goes back to 1755, has undergone renovations that include the addition of four new bathrooms, five exquisitely furnished bedrooms named after nearby fells, as well as planted gardens. Additionally, it boasts a sizable, proportionate kitchen, a grand reception room, and a cosy library with authentic Cumbrian fireplaces and wood stoves. The Pennine Ridge and the Cumbrian Fells can both be seen beautifully from Glen Bank. The cosy library, which has a wide variety of books for readers of all ages, is the perfect place to unwind with its cosy fireplace and French doors leading to a courtyard. The spectacular orangery dining hall, which overlooks the garden and has a handmade larch dining table big enough to sit the entire family comfortably, opens onto the central courtyard and is the perfect place to host memorable family festivities and social gatherings with friends.
