The cottage is set in a tranquil, secluded spot which is close to the centre of Appleby in Westmoreland. This lively market town is situated in the Eden Valley and is surrounded by glorious scenery, perfect for keen walkers to explore. The town has plenty of great restaurants, bars, pubs, shops, cafes and galleries, as well as a 17th century castle, and is known for its annual horse fair. The North Pennines, Lake District and Yorkshire Dales are all within 15 miles, making this is a fantastic base for discovering some of England s finest countryside. The town of Penrith (14 miles) has some great shops, with nearby attractions including Dalemain Mansion and Historic Gardens (16 miles), and Lowther Castle and Gardens (12.5 miles). Steps lead up and into this elegant property, taking you through the castellated entrance and into a spacious lobby with stained glass windows. The lobby makes a great space for relaxing in, with a view out towards the pond.
