Gilson is a superb end-terrace cottage set on the site of the Freshwater Biological Association, one mile from the village of Far Sawrey, close to Bowness-on-Windermere. This cottage sleeps two people and has a king-size double, a shower room and an open plan living area with a kitchen, dining area and sitting area with balcony. Outside there's roadside parking for one car. Gilson is a wonderful, luxury retreat with plenty to do within this part of the Lake District National Park and in the wider area.

Pick-up and drop-off ferry point situated approx 100 yards away. During seasonal peaks the ferry service may be in high demand due to its popularity. Please note that Sykes are not responsible for the council ferry changes to service, times, and closures. The Windermere car ferry service can be affected by extreme weather conditions.

Footpaths lead from the grounds to the village and Claife Heights - a noted beauty spot of forests and tarns. Watersports are close at hand on Windermere, along with Lake Cruises and the majestic Wray Castle to admire. Fishing can be enjoyed on nearby Esthwaite Water and, of course, fell walking.
Located in Ambleside, this cottage is in the mountains. Hill Top and Blackwell, The Arts & Crafts House are local landmarks, and the area's natural beauty can be seen at Lake District National Park and Arnside and Silverdale. Looking to enjoy an event or a game while in town? See what's happening at Ambleside Climbing Wall or Parkside Road. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking, rock climbing, and horse riding nearby.
