Only 200 metres from the sailing club and Bassenthwaite Lake Station where you can enjoy a cream tea on board the Orient Express train or a murder mystery evening! The Lakes Distillery is less than a mile away and offers tours and has a lovely bistro to enjoy a spot of lunch. Walkers and cyclists are spoilt with some brilliant bike tracks in Whinlatter Forest which is 8 miles away and there are some fabulous walks from your door: explore Sale Fell by walking from the cottage, directly in front of the main house or Dubwath Silver Meadows Nature Reserve opposite Bassenthwaite Lake Station. Walking through the enclosed garden, you enter the property into the useful hallway with storage for coats and muddy walking boots. You will then find the comfortable bedroom on the ground floor, which is a super king size zip and link (which can be made up as a twin on request). The bedroom offers a peaceful retreat to switch off after a day exploring with pretty views over the garden. There is an en suite shower room with a shower and WC. Head up the stairs to the first floor to find the bright lounge with a Smart TV, dining area and views over the open fields. It is a great place to sit quietly and watch the local wildlife and birds. The kitchen is off the lounge, compact yet well equipped and has everything you need to prepare a hearty breakfast or romantic evening meal. There is an electric oven and hob, fridge with freezer compartment, slimline dishwasher and microwave. Venturing outside, there is an enclosed garden with seating offering the perfect area for al fresco dining, or perhaps enjoying a nice glass of wine. You may also get the opportunity to spot regular visitors including squirrels, rabbits and lots of garden birds. There is off road parking available for one car.
