17th Century Westmorland Stone Cottage Retaining Many Original Features. Haweswater And Ullswater La, Penrith

Lake District. Sleeps up to 4

*** NEW TO HOLIDAY LETS APRIL 2023 ***

Tethera is a traditional two bedroomed Westmorland barn conversion coyly hidden down a leafy tree lined lane on the edge of the sleepy idyllic hamlet of Bampton.

The name Tethera means three and comes from Brythonic Celtic languages such as Cumbric which had died out in most of Northern England by the sixth century. They were commonly used for sheep especially in the fells of the Lake District. Yan Tan Tethera is one two three.

Inviting hallway ushers you into a beautifully presented living room with spacious dining area. Deep window recesses and open fire add to the comfort and charm of this Westmorland barn conversion.

Attractive stairway and galleried space guide you to restful sleeping arrangements and the bathroom.

Small private garden with pond, all around you are scenes uniquely Lakeland.

The village post office and cafe is open for lunch and provisions. The Mardale Inn is within stumbling distance. Haweswater nature reserve is nearby, and Pooley Bridge and Ullswater are only 4 1/2 miles away.

An ideal area for walkers, with walks from your doorstep and within a short drive the famous Aira Force waterfalls. Gowbarrow Fell, High Street mountain range, Shap Fells and Helvellyn are easily accessible by car. For the more energetic and adventurous there is Rookin House Activity Centre where you can try numerous activities including archery, quad bikes, go Karts, horse riding, fishing and clay pigeon shooting. Also an ideal area for mountain biking or cycling.

This cottage is located in Penrith. Lake District National Park and Yorkshire Dales National Park reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Lakeland Bird of Prey Centre and Kennedys Fine Chocolates. Acorn Bank and Glenridding Sailing Centre are also worth visiting.
