Stable cottage is a delightful 17th century detached property just a few minutes walk from the centre of Kirkby Stephen, Cumbria where you will find all the shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants you need for a relaxed and enjoyable stay. It is in an enclosed courtyard area shared with 3 other properties – one of which belongs to the owner.
It has 2 comfortable bedrooms, a large kingsize and a twin. There is one upstairs bathroom with a shower over the bath and a downstairs shower room. There is a good size lounge with a multi fuel stove, a starter pack of wood and coal is included with additional fuel available to purchase locally or through the owner.
A good size and well equipped kitchen with dining table and chairs.
Stable cottage also has a small conservatory/sun room where you can keep muddy boots and there is room for a couple of cycles. There is an additional lockable shed available too.
There is a lovely flagged patio and garden with furniture for you to sit out and enjoy – Cumbrian weather permitting!
There is off road parking available for 1 car and plenty of free parking on the road behind.

Please note, the front of the cottage is accessed by a cobbled area which can be slippery and uneven underfoot, however most guests use the back door of Stable Cottage for easier access
Kirkby Stephen is an old market town in the beautiful Upper Eden Valley. It is well placed sitting between the Lake District National Park, Yorkshire Dales and Westmorland Dales and is on the edge of the Howgills making it a great base for exploring by foot, bike or car. It is also approx. 2 miles from Kirkby Stephen train station on the iconic Settle to Carlisle railway line.
