Town: Gilcrux is a small farming village in west Cumbria which dates back to Norman times. The church built in 1199 was renovated in the 13th century. The village has a pub, a bistro and trout farm and is located near the west coast of Cumbria and the Solway Firth. The nearby town of Wigton is a traditional Cumbrian market town with a charter granted in 1262, and which still holds a market each Friday in the covered market hall. Wigton is a popular centre for shopping, pubs and restaurants, and also boasts a theatre, bowls, swimming, tennis and other sports.

Located in Cockermouth, this lodge is in a rural area. Lake District National Park and Dubwath Silver Meadows reflect the area's natural beauty and area attractions include Gilcrux Springs Trout Fishery and Lake District Wildlife Park. Raw War Paintball Games and Maryport Maritime Museum are also worth visiting. Fishing offers a great chance to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with hiking/biking trails and cycling nearby.
