Lake Windermere is the largest lake in England and is in the Lake Districts National Park.
A beautiful place with stunning scenery very popular for water sports and plenty of walks available to everyone of all ability.
There are also some exceptionally well known restaurants in the surrounding area.
This property is in walking distance to Bowness where you will find a large choice of shops and restaurants. There is Beatrix Potters Attraction which also has a tea room. Cinema, Tennis, Pitch and Put and lots of different boating opportunities.
On the Glebe you can catch a Steamer to take you up and down the lake. Lakes Aquarium is at the southern end of the lake where you will also find Lakeside & Haverthwaite Railway. There is also a dedicated bus which will take you to Lakeland Motor Museum.
Ambleside is at the northern end of the lake set amongst breathtaking majestic mountains, it is a very attractive Lakeland village with many outdoor shops and individual shops.
Brockhole is a visitor centre which has large gardens and play area for children which you can call in at when travelling on a steamer.
Blackwell the Arts & Crafts House is about 1 mile away and most definitely worth a visit.
Further afield you have Hill Top at Near Sawrey which is Beatrix Potter's home remaining very much as when she lived there.
Hawkshead is a true Lakeland Village with cobbled streets and clusters of whitewashed cottages huddles around secluded courtyards. There is once again a wide choice of individual shops
Grisedale Forest Park has an extensive range of marked trails.
Tarn Hows is a well known beauty spot which has easy access.
Ulverston is not too far away this is the home town of Stanley Laurel the partner of Oliver Hardy who became the well known slap stick duo Laurel & Hardy.
