This characterful country cottage with exposed beams overlooks the Vale of Grasmere towards Silver Howe and Helm Crag. Set over three floors, Hollens Cottage is a true walkers paradise, with a host of walks straight from the door, this cottage provides high quality accommodation to family and friends. Enter on the ground floor where the hall leads into the sitting room with beamed ceiling and spectacular views of the famous ‘Lion and Lamb’. Continue onto the country kitchen with dining area and French doors onto the private patio area, a peaceful spot for dining al fresco. Also, on the ground floor is the master king-size bedroom and modern bathroom. Downstairs to the lower ground level is a further comfortable king-size bedroom, shower room and access to the rear garden that contains a utility room for storing muddy walking boots and bikes. Upstairs to the first floor are the twin bedroom and single bedroom, plus cloakroom with WC. Grasmere is renowned for its rural charms, its links with the famous poet William Wordsworth and of course Sarah Nelson’s Grasmere Gingerbread. Visit Wordsworth’s home, Dove Cottage on the outskirts of the village, and then take a stroll to the centre of the village where he is laid to rest with other members of the Wordsworth family. Grasmere itself is a charming village to spend a holiday in the Lakes, there are art galleries to peruse, cafes to sample and many a hike to be completed. This central location is perfect for exploring some of the hidden gems on offer, take a walk to Rydal Caves just 2.2 miles from the centre of the village or for serious walkers the starting point for Helvellyn is only a short drive away in Thirlmere.
