Before you even step over the threshold of Silver How View you have to pause for a moment to take in the stunning backdrop of the surrounding fells. This traditional slate cottage is full of character and features and is beautifully decorated throughout. Outside there is a charming garden with seating area with uninterrupted views onto Silver How. The property has four large super kingsize bedrooms, two with en-suite shower rooms, and one ground floor bedroom with a shower over the bath. Both the dining room and living room have direct access onto the garden area, plus views onto Silver How in the near distance and the River Rothay as is runs past the garden.
The property is owned and on the grounds of the Bridge House Hotel where even though you have a fully equipped kitchen you could decide to treat yourself to dining in the hotel restaurant, you are also welcome to take advantage of the leisure facilities at the hotels sister hotel, The Inn Grasmere, facilities include a swimming pool, gym and sauna. Even within this central location in Grasmere you also have private parking, so you can leave the car and explore one of the many walks that are available right from your doorstep, including the nearby Grasmere and Rydal Water circuit. Furthermore, the most well-known ’Central Fells’ are just a short drive away. Traditional events such as the rush bearing ceremony and Grasmere Sports and Show still take place during the summer months. Followers of Wordsworth can pay a visit to the churchyard at St Oswald’s, where beneath the yews, the poet and his family graves can be found. A visit to Dove Cottage and Rydal Mount are also a must. Why not leave the car behind, and take the open top bus that offers unlimited stops along its route, a perfect and enjoyable way to see the sights.
