Speaking of which, the kitchen to die for. The Smeg oven is a delight, the fitted cupboards are modern and bright, and the worktops, flooring and fittings of the highest quality. There will be no shortage of volunteers wishing to help prepare a delicious breakfast or gourmet evening meal in here. Ambleside is located at the northern tip of Lake Windermere and is one of the Lake District’s most sophisticated villages.
