Shap Eden Valley Barn Conversion With Stunning Views, Shap

Lake District. Sleeps up to 8

Abbey Croft is a lovely four bedroom barn conversion on the very edge of Shap Village. The house has four good sized bedrooms (King with En-suite, 2 Doubles and a Twin room) all bedrooms are on the ground floor.
Upstairs is a large open plan family sitting room and games area, benefitting from a large inglenook with multi fuel stove. The well-appointed kitchen diner is fully equipped and has a large range cooker. Outside is an enclosed garden with picnic furniture a gas firepit table and bbq.
Abbey Croft is very much a home from home, a place to kick off your shoes and relax either quietly – or surrounded by family and friends.
On entering the front door you are in a small tiled lobby which leads to the double height hallway and access to the four bedrooms and family bathroom. Each room has fitted wardrobes with both hanging space and shelf space, bed linen and towels are provided. Hairdryers are located in the chest of drawers.
Up stairs you enter the open plan lounge and games area, a place where all the family can get together. A large sofa is sited in front of the multifuel stove to create a cosy zone for curling up and the smart TV allows you to log into your own content provider if you wish. Wifi is available throughout the house. At the other end of the living space is our games area - a full size air hockey table can make things quite competitive, there is also an additional TV for viewing DVD’s from our small family friendly library of films. The storage units at this end of the room also hold a variety of games, books and activities that guests are welcome to use during their stay.

From the family room double doors open into our kitchen. Well what can you say, its got the things you would expect (Fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, range cooker) as well as other bits and bobs such as toaster, coffee machine, stick blender and slow cooker – there are cooking pan , pots and accessories – enough to get together a Sunday roast or easy evening meal!

The outside space has off road parking for up to four cars (most important as our lane is very narrow and we do ask guests not to park or unload in the lane itself as it does restrict our neighbours). The garden faces out across fields towards the sunning landscape of the Eastern Lake District. The garden is fully enclosed and gated making it secure for children or dogs. Bbq and picnic bench seating available.

Just a quick note about our facilities for babies, - we have one travel cot and high chair available for use on request, and a ‘pull out’ toddler bed which there is space for in two of the bedrooms if required. We do not charge extra for these but please let us know in advance if you would be wanting to make use of them.

Up to 3 well behaved dogs are also welcome - we do ask though that you bring your own throws and dog towels and that they are not allowed on the furniture without throws being in place . If your furry friends come back from a walk a little on the damp side – you can bring them straight into the house by the kitchen door which leads directly into the utility and kitchen areas – where the flooring is easy to mop down and they can be made comfortable until they dry off!

We do book through several channels so please message me for any dates you may be interested in.
