The beautiful stone cottage, set within 0.5 acres of land in the Newlands Valley, sleeps nine guests and benefits from glorious views across the valley and towards the surrounding fells. Within easy reach of Grisedale Pike, Derwentwater, Bassenthwaite, Buttermere and Crummock Water the area is a walkers paradise and Lakeland icons such as Causey Pike and Catbells are just a few miles away. For the adrenaline seekers amongst the group, head to Newlands Adventure Centre (3 miles), where you can try ghyll scrambling, climbing and canoeing. Whinlatter Forest Park (7 miles) also makes a great family day out, with a network of walking and mountain bike trails, as well as high ropes, an adventure playground and delightful cafe. At the heart of the home is an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner. This fabulous social space has bags of character, with a beautiful stone fireplace housing a cosy open fire, spectacular views over the valley and ample seating to accommodate the whole party. The musically minded amongst the group will be thrilled to discover a piano, harpsichord and even a small church organ, to while away the hours and entertain their fellow guests. As well as the seating around the fire, there are other secluded spots within this vast living space, to tuck yourself away with a hot beverage and a good book; curl up in the alcove by the window, or in the curved seating by the door. Towards the end of the room is the large dining table, which comfortably seats ten people, for you to enjoy mealtimes together. Beyond the dining table you ll discover the kitchen area, which is equipped with an electric oven and hob, microwave, large fridge/freezer, dishwasher and walk in larder housing a washing machine/dryer. There s also a handy separate WC on the ground floor. At the end of a busy day, climb the stairs to one of the four tasteful bedrooms.
