Full of period features but with up to date amenities this 250 year old house with it's private garden, is an ideal base for exploring the Lake District. It is on a main road but very quiet at the back. It has a permanent awning covering the patio and secure out buildings if you wish to store bikes or kayaks. There is a public car park nearby which guests should use. You can access the back garden directly from the car park via the green gate. The western side of the Park is not so busy as other parts but is is still easy to get to Coniston, Windermere and Wast Water. Nearby Ravenglass has a minature railway that takes walkers from the coast up to Eskdale Green and on to Boot Station. Both Wasdale Head and Boot are good points to set off from the climb Scafell Pike - England's highest peak.
Located in Millom, this vacation home is in a rural area and by the sea. The area's natural beauty can be seen at Lake District National Park and St Bees Head, while Laurel and Hardy Museum and The Dock Museum are cultural highlights. South Lakes Safari Zoo and Go Ape Grizedale are also worth visiting. Windsurfing and sailing offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with rock climbing and horse riding nearby.
