Coniston village is just 2 miles away, and Torver is only 0.5 miles along the old railway line path, handy for the daily papers and fresh home-made bread. Bustling Ambleside is just 30 minutes' drive away and has a host of excellent restaurants, shops, and outdoor shops to explore. Why not return via the Langdale Valley through Chapel Stile and Little Langdale, watching out for the Herdwick sheep who amble freely?
