With Derwentwater across the road, this is a fantastic base for exploring this beautiful lake and its magical surrounding countryside. The scenic 10 mile walk around the lake provides many memorable highlights, with Surprise View and Lodore Falls just a mile to the south, and the thriving town of Keswick to the north (2.5 miles). Keswick is home to a range of great places to eat and drink, as well as popular attractions including the Derwent Pencil Museum, the Puzzling Place and Castlerigg Stone Circle. Climbers can head to local peaks including Dale Head (6 miles) and Grisedale Pike (7 miles). Several other lakes are within easy reach including Bassenthwaite Lake (6.5 miles), Buttermere (9.5 miles) and Crummock Water (11.5 miles). Three gentle steps lead up from the road and onto the path leading to the cottage. Entering the property, the airy and relaxing lounge is a perfect space to unwind in, featuring a lovely open fire and arched windows with extensive views over the surrounding fells and the lake. TV reception is limited, so the room is ideal for cuddling up, chatting into the night or catching up with a good book. The light and stylish kitchen has a wide range of equipment including an electric oven and hob, microwave, fridge/freezer and washing machine. There s also a handy store room which contains a Swedish drying cabinet perfect for laundry or wet coats and boots. In the spacious separate dining room you can gather to plan your day or share your favourite meals. Exploring further, there are three delightful bedrooms, decorated in delicate light tones and with plenty of storage space: there s a bright double room with dual aspect windows, a pretty twin room overlooking the lake and a cosy single room, also with lake views. The property features a family bathroom complete with a shower and a WC. Stepping outside, the veranda looks out across the garden and features outdoor furniture perfect for a picnic or a morning coffee as you take in the fantastic scenery. There is ample parking available for two cars.
