Wander through the village, where you can have a cold drink at The Nelson Arms just a few doors up or enjoy a meal at The Rising Sun and enjoy leisurely strolls through Middleton Moor. Continue onto Wirksworth, where you can tour the Wirksworth Heritage Centre, visit the National Stone Centre, hike up to the Black Rocks which offer superb views at their top, dine at a wide variety of restaurants, including Hope & Anchor, Le Mistral, and Saint Betti, or sample local ales at the microbrewery and good selection of pubs. From here, you can easily reach the popular village of Carsington, Hopton, and Carsington Water, where you can wander through the countryside with alpacas, dine at The Miners Arms, try your hand at a plethora of watersports, or enjoy wildlife rich walks around the lake.
